Delegation of the EU on Agriculture Fair

Within our "Europe Open" programme and the 50th anniversary of the EU common agriculture policy, the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia is pleased to invite you to attend our activities within the Novi Sad Agriculture Fair on Monday 14 May 2012.

At 11.30h, in the presence of Mr.   Dušan Petrović, Minister for Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management, Mr. John Clarke, Director for International Affairs at the Directorate General for Agriculture & Rural Development at the European Commission, H.E. Vincent Degert, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia and H.E. Armando Varricchio, Italian Ambassador to Serbia will hand over to the Serbian institutions 25 vehicles which will be used for control of production of wine with geographical indications and creating a new viticultural zoning, according to EU standards. The purchase of the vehicles is part of an EU funded twinning project, which is implemented by Italian authorities, with the overall aim to improve the quality and the competitiveness of Serbian wine products. The value of the cars is 250.000 Euros.

At 12.15h, Director Clarke and Minister Petrović, in the presence of the ambassadors, will make a tour of the agriculture fair, visiting the stands of European Union and of the Ministry for Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management.

At 13h, the EU Delegation is organising a debate on the topic of "50 years of common agricultural policy – Perspective of Serbia" with the participation of Director Clarke, Minister Petrović and the French ambassador H.E. François-Xavier Deniau.
