Europe Open, 2012
Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia and EU Info Centre in Belgrade are pleased to invite you to join us in a celebration of Europe Day – 9 May. Wide range of cultural and sport events held in Serbian cities.
The programme commences with the opening of School Olympic Games in Sremska Mitrovica and Belgrade; sport events continue with a Water Polo tournament for primary and secondary schools. A Festival of Contemporary European Film, which will be held from 13 to 19 May, will present 14 European films.
On 10 May, two hundred high school students will have an opportunity to talk openly about Europe with Ambassador Vincent Degert at the debate “Europa Diary – Wise Choices“; “A Familiar Europe” event will take place on 19 May at EU Info Centre, offering interactive games for children and their parents, with “Belgrade Voice” choir and Aleksandra Kovač as our special guests.
On the occasion of European Year for Active Ageing, a debate on active ageing and a computer course for pensioners will be held on 11 May, and our visitors will also have an opportunity to watch theatre plays which have been produced in the framework of EU funded cultural projects.
In 2012, the EU also celebrates 50 years of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). To mark this occasion, the Delegation of the European Union will present EU funded projects in this area at Novi Sad Agricultural Fair, from 12 to 18 May; on 14 May, a debate called "50th Anniversary of Common Agriculture Policy - Perspective of Serbia" will be held at the Agricultural Fair.
