European Good Practices - Advocacy Tool in Serbia

The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia launched the Support to Civil Society Project in October 2010 with the overall goal to support active civil society participation in Serbia’s EU-integration.

The grants to selected 43 civil society organisations have been awarded within the public call for proposals providing 4 million EUR in total (IPA 2009 i 2010) for the support to civil sector in Serbia.

One of awarded projects is ‘European Good Practices - Advocacy Tool in Serbia’, implemented by the Serbian non-government organisation Praxis.

The objective of the project is to contribute to finding systemic solutions in line with the European practices, which would enable the unimpeded enjoyment of the right to be recognized as a person before the law, with a special focus on the procedure of the registration in the birth registry book, and the housing right to the members of the Roma population.

The video clips Here I Am – “Legally Invisible” Persons and Here I Am – Forced Evictions are part of the awareness raising campaign advocating for the right to be recognized as a person before the law and the right on housing which should be guaranteed to all citizens in the Republic of Serbia.
