The requirements are clear and achievable
Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia Vincent Degert said today that the requirements which Serbia needs to meet in order to be granted the EU membership candidate status were “clear and achievable”.
In his words, these requirements include the continuation of implementation of the agreements already reached in Belgrade-Priština dialogue, further progress in regional cooperation and for EULEX and KFOR to be able to do their job throughout Kosovo.
Speaking at the public debate "National Assembly on the Path of EU Integration", organised by the Parliament’s European Integration Committee, Degert said that all EU Member States wanted to see Serbia in the Union.
In his words, Serbia has made substantial process and important steps have been made in the implementation of reforms. Degert also says that the EU is moving forward and developing, and that the enlargement process will continue.
"It is clear that we want all the countries in the region to develop on their path towards full EU membership. We want this part of Europe to be stabilised and integrated in the EU," Degert highlighted.
