International award for the achievements in ICT application, DISCOBOLOS 2008, was presented to the Development of Healthcare Information System for Primary Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Services – Electronic Health Records System (EHR), a healthcare project funded by the European Union and carried out by the European Agency for Reconstruction.
The project started in November 2004 and ended in June 2008. Its total value was EUR 3.3 million.
The main objective of the project was to introduce Electronic Health Records software (EHR) in the Serbian healthcare information system. HER is an electronic record of patient health information generated over a continuous period of time.
HER concept complies with European standards in the field of e-health, primarily aimed at improving health of every individual.
The award for the achievements in the IT application is traditionally presented by the Serbian IT association JISA in cooperation with the European Assembly of ICT Association, European Chamber of Commerce and chambers of commerce and ICT associations in Western Balkan countries.
This year’s awards for best solutions in the application of information and communication technology in nearly all fields of economy and non-economy were presented at the ceremony held at the hotel Continental Beograd on 18 December 2008.
