Parliament approves new European Commission
The European Parliament elected the new European Commission by 488 votes to 137, with 72 abstentions, in Strasbourg on Tuesday. The vote took the form of a single ballot on the whole College of Commissioners, consisting of one Commissioner from each of the 27 EU Member States.

Regional training on Citizens' participation in decision making process
The specific objectives of the training are to enhance the knowledge and skills of selected Civil Society Organisations representatives in using various methods, techniques, tools and approaches in the participation of the citizen’s in the decision-making process. Trainings will be held in Belgrade, Serbia: 1 – 3 March 2010 (First Module) and Istanbul, Turkey: 23 April 2010 (Second Module). deadline for submittion of applications is 10 February 2010.

Full application of Interim Trade Agreement starts on 1 February
Interim Trade Agreement between European Union and Serbia will officially take effect on 1 February 2010. The establishment of contractual relationship with the EU will enable Serbia to attract more foreign investors, improve its industrial production and increase its export to the Union.

Prime Minister of Serbia and European Union Ambassadors meet in Belgrade
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Mirko CVETKOVIĆ was the guest of honour today at a working lunch organised by Ambassador Vincent DEGERT, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Serbia, together with Ambassador of Spain Iñigo de Palacio ESPAÑA. Discussions focused on Serbia's European integration perspectives following the positive achievements of 2009. The Prime Minister and the ambassadors also exchanged views on political and economic developments in Serbia, as well as on regional co-operation.
